Yes.
The website
Yes! Everything on this website is FREE to use, unless it clearly states there is a charge involved. All the basic website functionality is free. We will never charge you without warning you first, but our aim is always to keep everything free if possible to you the users and charge our business customers to advertise with playtxt.
Receiving messages
There are NO ongoing charges for receiving playtxt SMS messages online or on your mobile phone.
Sending messages
Sending messages up to your free credits limit is free. You are ONLY charged credits if you send more playtxt messages than you have credits for. BUT you cannot be charged credits unless you purchase them in advance. So, you are not charged automatically.
Sending messages from your mobile
If you send a message to playtxt from your mobile, to do a command (e.g. set your location) or to another user, you will not be charged by playtxt, but you MAY be charged by your mobile network operator who may charge you standard charges (or more) for sending to our incoming number. You will have to contact them directly to find out what they charge you, but we do not get any of the money they charge you!
Revenue and profit
Part of the revenue from charges, including from our business customers, goes to charity. Read more here. We are a company set up to make profits but we want to do it while giving the most possible to our users (you!) for free and also running out business in a fair and ethical way, to people and the environment.
